I was born at the front of the bus
in a very comfortable seat
I didn’t do anything to earn it
It wasn’t much of a feat

I was given a silver spoon
Somehow that wasn’t enough
It’s hard to do the right things
When your life is not that tough

I was given the golden ticket
White Christian and male
Above average IQ
I had life by the tale

Sat down, crafted my goals
Made long term plans
A career and a family
The classic American man

Some things were tougher than planned
I failed along the way
But I never suffered that much
It was an easy price to pay

I’ve been riding through life
In my comfortable seat
I understand it better now
I’m already whole and complete

I wasn’t choosing life
I was sticking to the script
Nothing for me to memorize
